Crocs commercial
I have completed my first filming project for Cambridge. The experience was interesting, and I'm glad that of the first one it wasn't too long or hard. I will say that I wish I was more creative with my project. I've never taken a media class before nor am I involved in media heavily, so I'm not as advanced as I would like to be. I do hope to progress throughout the other projects well have throughout the year, because I am a little disappointed with my work so far. The actual process of filming and coming up with ideas isn't too complicated. I feel like filming is the easiest part for me, because one my biggest strengths sis my speaking, which is why I did voiceovers instead text. If I come up with a plan for the concept, filing is really easy and quick for me, like it was with this project. I believe it took me about 10 min to get the clips. The problem for me came with the editing, I feel like I put things together that I know is best for me, even though it may not be best for Cambridge. I can openly admit that this isn't my best, but I don't have a best yet when it comes to editing. I used transitions that could have been better, and the scenes could have been cleaner. I'm progressively working on this skill, but its difficult when I have to sit by myself and come up with things that are new and interesting. Its even harder to apply that through a technical standpoint, and I know that I'm know where near that advanced. With projects it affects me because I want to put out great things, and I know Ill have to be patient and take criticism to improve. As far as the idea, I think commercials were a cool thing to do, and I really like my topic, especially since I'm obsessed with Crocs. Once again it was a really short commercial, which I appreciated, but timing was an issue for me as well. I talk a lot, and the commercial was not allowed to go over 31 seconds, so I had to cut out so much, because I couldn't speak for more than 5 seconds a clip, which was a challenge for me. I'm excited to do more projects in the future and I hope I can't get better in my craft. This was my experience with my first project.
