Intro to Aice Media Studies

 My name is Suzie Louis, I’m in 11th grade and I just turned 16 2months ago #cancergang. I’m the middle of 2 siblings, and older and a younger brother, they irritate the living life out of me but I’m not sure what I would do without them, they’re my only source of entertainment. I'm a very loud person, not so much vocally, but personality wise, I love to have fun and make the best of situations good or bad. I enjoy watching lots of Disney plus, eating, watching Tiktok’s and lounging around. Since Quarantine I’ve become obsessed with Marvel movies, I’ve rewatched the Avenger movies once a week, and at this point I’m reciting lines from memory. I’m trying to find a new hobby, and I’m thinking about doing nail art, I’ve seen lots of videos online and I want to try to learn even though I know it’s going to be difficult. As far as this year goes, I’ve spent the last 6-7 months indoors which absolutely sucks, but I’ve made the best of it. This month I got my eyebrows micro-bladed for the first time ever and I was ecstatic because I was born with very little eyebrows and it’s made insecure not having them. I'm also getting my permit next month, and it’s been a long time coming, I passed my drug and alcohol course in June, but the DMV is only taking appointments because of the Corona Virus and it’s been packed, I just got an availability slot. At the moment I’m focusing on getting a job because life is getting more and more expensive by the day and I’ve got to have a hustle. School started about month ago and I’ve adjusted fairly well, and it way easier than physical to say the least. A lot of people I know have been wanting to go back but I don’t, the mental and physical strain was too much, having to wake up so early to catch a 6:00 a.m. bus was not the move. Also we are probably going to go back soon, because the cases are much lower than what they used to be, but that’s a little nerve wrecking. I know that my school is going to take necessary precautions but being around a bunch of teenagers is a smart idea, and wearing masks for 8 hours a day is so uncomfortable. If Robert Runcie says we have to go back then I understand how important it is, and I’ll make it work. My family have done so well to ensure our safety against the virus, and we’ve barely left our house, so it will be a big adjustment. Fall started today and I’m beyond excited, the holidays are the best time of the year, and Halloween is my favorite holiday. I’m excited for the festivities and the endless amounts of movies to watch, my favorite Coraline. I even bought a Halloween themed blanket today and it’s so soft. Overall I’ve had  quite a dull year but I’m waiting to turn it all around. I’m hoping for a vaccine within the coming months

Crocs Editing Blog

    Today I went through the process of editing my crocs commercial today. To start off, I added in my voiceovers. In my previous blog I mentioned that I pre filmed my voiceovers, so I would know how long Each clip in my commercial would be. I recorded my voice overs on a voice memo app, and when I edited the commercial, I just added each voiceover to the clip it belonged to. I filmed on my phone, and transferred the clips to my computer to edit. I edit on iMovie, because it works best for me. In the editing process, I started off by putting my clips all together in one video. I then started editing by adding text in the beginning, to establish the object in which I was filming. Afterwards I made sure that the voiceovers fit each clip perfectly, and cut out anything that was a little lengthy, or choppy. Starting The Final Task

 My name is Suzie Louis, I’m in 11th grade and I'm 16. I think it’s crazy because as I’m reintroducing myself I remember my first blog. As I was reading it over I was talking about how much I was looking forward to for the rest of 2020. It’s already February of 2021 and I feel like time has flown by so fast.  I have been in my Aice Media Studies studies class for a little over half a year and I have learned a lot so far. I’ve done a lot of filming projects to advance my knowledge in the media film. My favorite lesson so far has been about Audiences and Institutions. We didn’t do a film for it, but it was the most interesting to write about, and we even got to do a practice essay for the Cambridge exam we will be taking at the end of the year. It is time to start our final project, for the end of the year. It’s going to be a long drawn out process to ensure that this project is going to the best possible.
