Critical Reflections Questions
1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?
In my media class we did a filming project, and we were presented with these same reflection questions. The first time I didn’t use a lot of conventions, because I didn’t really know a lot about them. In my commercial I used way more, to connect to the audience. I based my scenes off of things I know people watching would understand, such as using Crocs for productivity like exercise. I still feel like I could have edited better to fit my audience. It connect to social groups who are looking for comfortable wear while still wanting to be active and live their day-to day lives.
2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?
My audience is directed towards on the go moms, athletes, and students. People who want to live their days normally and comfortably, a kid who wants to survive a 6 hour school day, a stay at home mom running errands, an athlete that plays on a travel team. My commercial could displayed in almost any electronic, TVs, phones, computers, etc.).
3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
I think my production skills progressed with learning how to use new tools, on the editing app. I have described throughout most of my blogs, that working with media is a new experience and I’m not very good at it. I don’t think I approved as much in this media project compared to the last one. I did learn how to use new things such as the intervention of music, but I still felt like I could have done more technological wise.
4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?
I have learned to Integrate more technology. For the upload floor was it was difficult to use iMovie, so I had tired to convert into two different editing apps which still weren’t working. I I tried to put my commercial into climpchamp and openshot, but when I used blogger it still wasn’t downloading. I then used YouTube, and published my commercial there, where I then shared it blogger, and that seemed to work the best.
