Editing Blog for my Music Video

The editing process for the music video was fairly easy for my partner and I. When it came down to the entire project, I was better in the filming section. My partner kind of took over when it came to the editing part. Especially since she had more experience in that field. We edited on Cute Cut Pro, and one of the first things we did was the songs. While my partner did most of the physical editing, I was more of the creative director. I went in and made suggestions and tweaks on what I thought could be better. As I was speaking on, the music, I thought that it would have been a cool idea to add have most of the song be the instrumental. I thought that if we added in a few lyrics of the chorus plus the instrumental, it would pair well with the music video, and the playful idea. My partner and I wanted to deal with the big issue, the clips not being filmed in the same direction. Some clips were in landscape, the others were in vertical position. We were told the correct way we were supposed to film, but it was accidental, and for the outdoor clips, by the time we realized, the sun had already set. We tried to fix this issue and stretch out the clips that we vertical, but in the end we were just ruining the entire clip. We ended leaving it he way it was, but to help, I suggested added in cool transitions, to shy away from it. Since it was cloudy we decided to add in a filter to make it brighter. Towards the end of the editing process, we made a couple of mistakes. We almost forgot to mute our voices in the back of the music video. My partner also realized that the song was too short, and we also cut out of the clips were too short. We then had to go back and add length to some of the clips, and add more instrumental from the song. This is what I did for the editing blog.
