Genre Research: Thriller & Drama

 Thriller: 

1. Common types of camera angles found in thriller movies are high angles, which are often used to to make figure look powerless. There also camera movements such as tilted angles that add tension to the scenes. 

2. The most common use of camera lighting in thriller movies is low-key lighting, this adds to the horror and theme of the movie. 

3. Thriller movies mostly use parallel editing to add onto the suspense and tension in a scene. 

4. Types of thriller movies are 47 Meters Down, the Silence Of the Lambs, and Parasite. One of my favorite thriller movies is Get Out. 

5. The most common sound found in thriller movies are dark and eerie sounds, this also builds up suspense and tension in these movies. There can also be non diegetic sound added in the background to certain scenes. For example distant animal noises in  forest, strange noises in a house, etc.).

6.  Elements that I like in thriller movies are the suspense. I like to be surprised not knowing what is going to happen next. 

7.What I don't like about thriller movies is sometimes there are blood and nasty thing. I don't really handle that too well. 

Drama: 

1. Common types of camera angles in drama can vary, because of the diversity of the subject. Drama films use eye-level shots to  potentially illustrate communication between two characters.

2. Common types of lighting used in drama can vary between high and low-key lighting. This may be used to brighten up a scene if high key lighting is used, or to add sadness to a depressing scene if low-key lighting is used. 

3. Common editing in drama films is dissolve because it link two scenes together which adds meaningfulness and emotion. 

4. Some of my favorite drama films are Hidden figures, The Blind Side, Remember the Titans. 

5. Common Sounds in drama films are both diegetic and non-diegetic sounds. Diegetic allow people to know where specific sounds are coming from in drama movies. Non diegetic sounds allow viewers to hear sounds and noises that they may not be able to see.

6. The things that I like about drama movies is how they are more of a story, they seem more sentimental. 

7. The things that I don't like about drama films is that they can sometime be overwhelming.

2nd Location Filming Blog

 We talked about the process at our first filming location. Now I am going to discuss our second filming location. We went to my partner's house. Where we filmed the other half of our opening sequence. We started as soon as we arrived at her house. We had just previously left the park. The lighting no longer mattered because we were filming the rest inside. We checked for or props. All we needed was a hammer and notes My partner supplied that at her house. Next, we did touch-ups. We also did outfit changes. We did this because we wanted to make it seem like it was a different day in the film.  We went over the script for the other two scenes to make sure we had it down pact. Filming at my partner's house was easier than the park. We didn't have to refilm that much. Maybe about 2 or 3 times. Planning Storyboard for Music Video

For the storyboard, my partner and I came up with 2 separate halves of the storyboard and put them together below. Just as in my last storyboard, I am a terrible drawer, but I did try my hardest on my drawings. I drew the top half, my partner drew the bottom half. I will start by explaining that we want to start our commercial off with us being in the park and then moving to my partner,  Fatima's house. We establish the setting of our first location, in the story board, being the park. I also did a drawing of the next part of our music video, us having a picnic at the park. We have decided to incorporate props with the idea by having a picnic setup, with the blanket and basket, and well even be eating food/using it as a prop.
