Park Filming Blog

Image
My partner and I filmed for the first time on March 27th. We went to film at the park. We arrived early afternoon around 12 pm. We planned to film the first two scenes of our film. We did not need any props according to our shooting script. We reviewed our dialogue scripts so we would know what to say. We began filming the first scene. We had to reshoot the first scene a lot. My brother had a hard time cooperating with us. We had a feeling he was going to be difficult to work with.  We made sure not to give him any lines in this scene. After completing a couple of takes we reviewed the clips to make sure they were as clear and perfect as possible. We made sure to film in landscape position. Since we are filming four scenes only each clip could only be about 30 seconds.  It was okay if the clip exceeded that amount. We just had to make sure that it wasn't too short because that would be a problem in the editing process. If it was too long that would be fine since we could cut w...

Pre-Filming Blog

Image
This is my last pre-filming blog. The next blog that I will write about is when I have filmed. The filming days are still as planned. After spring break March 28-29th. My partner and I are getting excited to film. I have high expectations. But I think it will be interesting to watch it all play out the day of. My partner and I have still been rehearsing our script. We have been trying to see if we have it memorized. So we practice on FaceTime without looking at our scripts. Although I'm excited to film, I have to be focused. In every pre-filming blog, I've talked about the importance of the final task. I don't want to slack or lose sight of how well it is for me to do a good job. This is important in passing my class. I want to go into the filming process with expectations to do really well. I also want to set the project above the rest with the editing. I am confident that my partner wants to do the same. I am confident in our capabilities to pull this off. I believe that ...

Pre-Filming Blog

Image
At this stage, my partner and I have not started filming yet. We plan to film in about 2 weeks. My partner and I have rehearsed our scripts since the last time I have blogged. We continue to practice on the phone for social distance reasons. In our play, we plan to have 3 people. My brother is going to play Jackson. We came up with his name because his real name is Percy. It correlates with the movie Percy Jackson, which is one of my mom's favorite movies. That is why she named Percy. My partner's name is Georgia. We got her name from the Netflix show Ginny and Georgia. My name Allura, and I got it from a book I was reading. We still plan to have 3 locations, my house, my partner's house, and the park. We are going to pay attention to details while filming. Even if it means filming over and over again until we get it perfect.  It is important to make great edits also for a good final project. Like I have said in my previous blogs, I want to show improvement. I want the tra...

Pre-Filming Blog

Image
I have not begun filming my final task yet. I still have the same schedule for my filming. I plan to film with my partner from March 28-29. I have been discussing this with my partner as we get closer to filming. I have confirmed that everything planned still remains the same. I have also discussed planning out what we're going to wear. My little brother is going to be playing my son in the film. I have also picked out what he will be wearing. I have talked to my partner about what props were going to be using. Also, who is going to be buying them? We have also discussed where we are getting them from. I and my partner have looked over our script since we first wrote it. We were doing more planning. We pre-rehearsed our script just a little bit over the phone. The most important part to me about this film is the editing. I want to make it known that I feel that the whole project is equally important. I feel though that it is important that after we're done filming that I and my...

Final Task: Production Blog

Image
I nor my partner have started filing for our final task yet.  We still have the same schedule to film during spring break. We have picked out days that would work the best for both of us. Also, we have a lot of time to go back and fix mistakes if needed.  I think it is important to do very well on my final task. If we come across any mistakes we will be able to fix them and make corrections as we go. The only issue we may come across is re-filming. If we film and mess up we may not notice little things right away. It may only be noticed during editing, where it might be too late. That is why it is especially important to pay attention to details and look over the project fully before we finish filming. If everything goes as planned the filming should still only be 2 days. One day at my house and my partner's house. One day at the park. I and my partner live close so getting to each other's house should be no issue. We are only going to film the first scene at the park. T...

Final Task: Filming Blog

Image
At this point in our final task, I have not started filming yet. I will begin filming with my partner over spring break. We have not started filming yet because we want our project to be done when it's closer to our due date. I and my partner have everything planned out for when we have to film. So when it is time to start everything should go smoothly. We also moved back our filming days so it was convenient for our schedule. We also wanted to make sure we were filming on a day that has good weather. On the days of  March 28-29th, it is supposed to be 80 degrees and nice and sunny. We planned the first half of our scenes for the 28th. The other 2 scenes will be filmed on the 29, at the park. I have some strategies to help me prepare for filming. I'm going to print out my dialogue script. I think it would help me more in the filming process. I could film faster if I know what I'm exactly going to say. I will also print out the shooting script. This help to make sure I or my...

Planning for Final Task: Storyboard

Image
When making our storyboard we wanted to make sure that each scene was 6 slides. In the first picture, we had the scene where Allura and her son, Jackson are playing. In the background, you can see a figure. That is Georgia who is lurking in the background.  In the second scene, we have Georgia and Allura having a conversation. Allura is asking her to be Jackson's godmother. She's excited and thankfully accepts. Unfortunately in the next scene, Allura dies and it doesn't seem to be a suicide. She gets hit in the back with a hammer and collapses. She then drowns in the bathtub. A weird suicide note is left on the bed. The police come and at first, do believe it's a suicide but things don't add up. At the funeral, Georgia lies and pretends she's sad when it's quite the opposite. During the autopsy, the investigator notices something off. The police come to Georgia's home and want to ask more questions but need a warrant. Georgia notices she's in trouble...
